The vets, nurses and staff are so caring and give 110% to my gorgeous girl. She did puppy academy which, I believe, gave my girl the confidence and social skills that ,in fact, made her surgery today less stressful and she got through it more easily. Thank you for all the the support and treatment of my precious girl.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the right age for my puppy to join?
Puppy Pre-School is designed for puppies aged 8 to 16 weeks old—this is the most important developmental window in your dog’s life. During this time, they’re forming lifelong attitudes about the world around them. Early, positive exposure to other puppies, people, environments, and gentle handling can help prevent fear-based behaviours and anxiety as they grow. This is the perfect time to set your pup up with strong foundations for a happy, confident future.
-
Do I stay during class?
Yes—you’ll be right there with your puppy for all four 1-hour training sessions. These classes are designed for both of you to learn and grow together. With guidance from our expert trainers, you’ll build confidence, strengthen your bond, and pick up the skills to support your puppy’s progress at home. It’s hands-on, supportive, and a great chance to be part of your pup’s early learning journey.
-
Do you use punishment or harsh training methods?
Never. At Puppy Pre-School, all learning is done with patience, positivity, and science-backed techniques. We use kind, force-free training that builds trust and reinforces the behaviours you want to see. Your puppy learns through encouragement, not fear.
-
What does my puppy actually learn?
Over four weeks, your puppy will gain confidence, learn basic cues (like sit, stay, come), explore toilet training routines, understand body language, and build positive habits. Every activity is designed to be gentle, safe, and rewarding.
-
How long is the course?
Puppy Pre-School runs for four weeks with one 1-hour session each week. It’s short, focused, and tailored to match your puppy’s energy and learning capacity.
-
What should I bring to class?
Bring your puppy in a secure collar or harness with a standard lead (no retractables), their vaccination certificate, a soft blanket or mat, a favourite toy, and plenty of soft treats they love. These items help them feel safe and stay engaged.
-
Do puppies need to be vaccinated before joining?
Yes. Puppies must have received their first vaccination to attend. You’ll need to provide a current vaccination certificate when enrolling and ensure boosters are kept up-to-date throughout the program. Our training spaces are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between groups with veterinary-grade products to ensure a safe, healthy environment for all.
-
Can my kids or family come too?
Yes! Up to three family members can attend with each puppy. We encourage the whole family to be involved, especially when it comes to building consistent routines and reinforcing training at home. Just make sure one adult (18+) is present, and younger children are supervised and able to participate calmly. It’s a great way for everyone to learn together and support your pup’s progress.
-
My puppy is a bit anxious—will they be okay?
Absolutely. Our team is experienced with puppies of all personalities. We’ll gently support your pup at their own pace, helping them grow in confidence while always feeling safe and supported.
-
What if I need more help at home?
No stress—help is always available. We provide bonus resources, home practice tips, and offer Behaviour Consultations if you need more personalised support along the way.
