The vets, nurses and staff are so caring and give 110% to my gorgeous girl. She did puppy academy which, I believe, gave my girl the confidence and social skills that ,in fact, made her surgery today less stressful and she got through it more easily. Thank you for all the the support and treatment of my precious girl.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What age is this class for?
Puppy Advanced School is for dogs 16 weeks & over. It’s ideal for pups who’ve missed Puppy Pre-school or just need a bit more help with their manners and training.
-
Does my dog need to have done any training before this?
No. This class is great for beginners or for pups who need a refresher. We’ll meet you where you’re at and help you build solid foundations.
-
What kind of training methods do you use?
We use positive, reward-based training — treats, toys, praise — to teach and encourage good behaviour. No harsh methods here! Our goal is to make learning fun for both dogs and humans.
-
Will my dog be off-lead in class?
No. For safety reasons, all dogs remain on-lead during class. Even in a controlled environment, having dogs off-lead can lead to unpredictable interactions, especially when they're still learning. Keeping dogs on-lead helps us maintain a calm, safe space where everyone can focus, learn, and feel secure — both dogs and humans alike.
-
How big are the class sizes?
We keep our classes small (usually 4 to 6 dogs at the most) to make sure everyone gets personal attention. This also helps dogs feel more relaxed and focused.
-
What should I bring to class?
Bring:
• Your dog on a flat collar or harness and a standard leash (no retractables)
Plenty of small, tasty treats
• A treat pouch or bag (makes things easier!)
• A mat or towel for your dog to settle on
• A favourite toy/s that your dog can focus play with
• Poop bags (because accidents happen!) -
What if my dog is reactive or struggles around other dogs?
That’s totally okay — every dog is different. Let us know when you book, and we’ll chat about whether group class or one-on-one training is the better option for your pup right now.
-
How long is the course?
Puppy Advanced School is an ongoing course, with one class per week lasting 60 minutes.
