Pet Emergency FAQ's

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY

What can I expect when I arrive at the emergency veterinary hospital?

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our customer experience liaison who will help guide you through your visit to the clinic and introduce you to our triage nurse.

The triage nurse will perform a preliminary assessment of your pet, and have a chat with you about why you are concerned about your pet. From here, you will be seen by the veterinarian and their team.

During emergency hours, our hospital follows the triage principle. This means that rather than a ‘first come, first serve’ basis, you can rest-assured that our most critical patients are always seen first.

My pet has medications at home and a folder of his most recent medical records, should I bring this to the emergency hospital with us?

Absolutely, this is always helpful to the team on duty in order that they can provide your pet with the best care.

However, in an emergency – it’s more important that we see your pet, and we can worry about their records at a later time.

Be sure to bring your dog with a well-fitted collar or cat safely confined in a cat carrier.

I’m not sure if it’s an emergency, what should I do?

This is one of the most common questions that we encounter. If you are concerned, come down to the hospital with your pet.

You know them best, we trust your judgment and the best case scenario is a clean bill of health for your pet.

If you are unsure about your fur baby, then we would certainly rather be cautious.

Does your emergency hospital work with any payment plans?

To help make veterinary emergency care accessible, we accept ZipPay and Vetpay.

If you’re considering these payment services, it is best to apply for them through their websites as far in advance as possible to avoid delays or disappointment.

Is there any car parking available?

There are generous car parking options available on the hospital premises.

There is no charge for clients to use the car park when visiting our veterinary hospital.

My pet has medical insurance, can I use this at your hospital?

We will give you all of the necessary information for you to be able to submit a claim with your pet insurance.

Please be sure to let our team know that you are intending to make a claim so that we can prepare that information for you to take home upon your pet’s discharge.

Your insurer will assess your medical records and paid invoices to make a determination on your claim.

My pet needs medical care, but it’s not an emergency, can I still come to the hospital?

We would love to see you and your pet, in addition to emergency & critical care, our veterinarians are experienced in general routine care (vaccinations, desexing) as well as second opinion medical and surgical care.

You’ll be hard pressed not to find something that fits your needs, with our extended appointment hours and appointment availability.

Can’t find a time that works for you through our online booking system? Give us a call to see what we can do for you! To avoid a prolonged wait time for you & your pet, we wouldn’t recommend a routine care appointment during emergency hours.
